Leslie Nwoke, MD

Dr. Leslie Nwoke is a physician, executive coach, and speaker. She is the creator of HeartWork Now, the online personal development platform offering courses and video on emotional management for individuals businesses. She has a diverse background in global health, nonprofit leadership, and psychiatry. She co-founded The Ruby Project, a nonprofit and mentorship programs for girls with a trauma background, and Making Noise, Inc., an advocacy organization highlighting African social justice issues. Her dedication to tackling social justice issues is farreaching including providing health education and rehabilitation efforts for trafficking survivors in Ethiopia and Italy. Her work has garnered many praises; she was selected as a 2017 StartingBloc Social Innovations Fellow, joining a premier group of innovators and leaders. She was crowned as Miss Nigeria in America in 2004 and later given the “Woman of Excellence Award” by the same organization in 2009. She was honored as one of the “The Women of the Week” in The Sun News, one of the largest newspapers in Nigeria. Dr. Nwoke received her Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D) from Ross University School of Medicine, her Master in Public Health degree from George Washington University, and her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Spelman College. Other than her love for all things emotions and social justice, she loves her husband and two children, tiramisu, and is a diehard fan of Celine Dion and Emeli Sande.
