Liliana E Rios Rojas MDNephrology
Dr. Liliana Rios is a nephrologist in the state of Texas. Born and raised in Colombia, South America, Dr. Rios graduated from the National University of Colombia as a physician specializing in general surgery. She worked a few years in her home country, mainly in the emergency room and hospitalist areas. She also managed an outpatient program for patients with diabetes and hypertension in her home city.
Dr. Rios was also able to impact the lifestyle of a large group of patients in a unique multi-disciplinary program. In this program, patients were able to be evaluated and supported in their health journeys with a range of resources from having a nutritionist to a psychologist, and once in a while, were even able to have an exercise session with physical therapy along with their physicians all in one group.
After practicing medicine in Colombia, Dr. Rios moved to the United States later in her career where she pursued internal medicine. She completed her internship at New York Downtown Hospital and later finished her training in the areas of internal medicine, geriatrics and nephrology at Winthrop University Hospital in Long Island.
Dr. Rios currently works in a private practice group in the state of Texas where she lives with her family who includes her three year old daughter, Valerie. Dr. Rios is keen to empower other women around the country to change their lives and convey to their future what they were born to do. Her goal is also to promote a better future for her own daughter and so many others. She is a co-author in “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”.
