Biography

Dr. Danielle Johnson is a native of Erie, PA. She attended the University of Toledo for undergraduate and Drexel University College of Medicine where she graduated with her medical degree. She completed psychiatry residency and was chief resident of psychiatric emergency services at the University of Cincinnati. She has remained in the Cincinnati area as a board certified psychiatrist. She treats adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings and particularly enjoys treating women’s mental health issues such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder and perinatal mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders.

She has served as vice president and president of the medical staff and is currently Chief of Adult Psychiatry at her hospital. She is an active member of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association and a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Johnson is a reviewer for mental health content on UpToDate.com and womenshealth.gov and a speaker on the topics of mental health of women and minorities. She also is a co-author in “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”.

She is the mother to her 12, 19, and 20-year-old sons.The loss of their father two years ago and the resultant single parenthood is something Dr. Johnson will write about someday from a personal and professional perspective – raising strong children through grief.
