Pediatric Hematology,Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant


Surabhi Batra, MD, is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas health system and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey. Born and brought up in Delhi, India, she moved to the United States of America in 2008 after completing her medical school degree from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, India. She pursued a residency in pediatrics at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County and further training in pediatric hematology oncology and stem cell transplantation at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Surabhi is married and has two adorable boys. She wrote her chapters in “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats” with her life coach, her mentor, and her best friend forever, her father, Vinod K Batra, MD, who is also a physician, an internist practicing in India. He has been her inspiration in every step of her life. He and Surabhi graduated from the same medical college. Talk about following your dad’s footsteps!
