Mia S. Ben MDPediatrics
Dr. Mia Singleton Ben is a native of Napoleonville, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Joseph and Lorraine Singleton, retired educators of Assumption Parish. After graduating in 1990 from Southern University and A & M College, she then attended medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated in 1995. Following medical school, Dr. Ben completed her residency in pediatrics in 1998.
Dr. Ben went on to practice pediatrics as a National Health Scholar completing her service obligation in West Alabama. In 2000, Dr. Ben started All Kids Pediatrics in Opelousas, Louisiana. After 17 years of having her own practice, she is now affiliated with Southwest Primary Health Center in Opelousas.
Along with her passion of being a doctor, Dr. Ben is also a women’s professional football player, having founded the Acadiana Zydeco Women’s Tackle Football Team in 2009. She is most proud that her team won a national championship in 2016. Additionally, she is also a professional baker and a talented cook. She is also a co-author in “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”.
Dr. Ben is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is also a Christian and a member of The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church of Opelousas where she is a member of the deaconess ministry, medical team and is the assistant youth director.
Dr. Ben is the wife of Karl Ben, of Opelousas, and the mother of Trevor, Daniel, and Mia Sofia Ben.
