Natasha K. Sriraman MD, MPHPediatrics
Natasha K. Sriraman, MD, MPH, FAAP, FABM, completed her education and training in Pennsylvania and New York. Prior to getting her MD, she attained her MPH in health policy and maternal/child health.
Currently, Dr. Sriraman works at The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters/Eastern Virginia Medical School (CHKD/EVMS) in Norfolk, Virginia, as an associate professor of pediatrics. She has published on the topics of breastfeeding, postpartum depression, public health in pediatrics, and oral health. She has served on the board of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)-Section of Breastfeeding, Virginia Chapter of the AAP, and Postpartum Support Virginia. She is currently a board member of the Academy of the Breastfeeding Medicine and also serves on the board of FOR KIDS homeless shelter in Norfolk, Virginia.
Dr. Sriraman served as a strategic team member for http://www.BFConsortium.com, writing modules for Maintenance of Certification Parts 2 and 4. She has designed resident curriculums in both breastfeeding and public health for CHKD. She is also on the executive committee for the Women in Medicine and Science at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
She speaks Spanish and Hindi and uses her experiences when addressing cultural competency topics within her practice, teaching, lectures, and research.
Dr. Sriraman is passionate about legislative advocacy and has traveled to Washington, DC, and Richmond, VA, to lobby about various child health issues. She worked with the Virginia-AAP Chapter and governor to have May declared as Maternal Mental Health Month in the state of Virginia.
Dr. Sriraman is an avid runner and loves hot yoga, kickboxing, and barre. She has run multiple half marathons, a marathon, and a 50K (her first and last!) She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, three children, and her double-doodle puppy. She is also a co-author of “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”.
