Biography

Kendra Segura, MD, MPH, FACOG, is an obstetrician-gynecologist who is known as Dr. Kendra: Your Ob/Gyn Next Door®. She currently works at Kaiser Permanente in southern California. A native of Los Angeles, California, she attended Ross University School of Medicine, and completed her residency training at Rochester Regional Medical Center in Rochester, New York. She also has a Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda University, in Southern California.

Dr. Segura’s unlimited passion for women’s health extends beyond the walls of the hospital, and she is always looking to reach out to women using any means possible. People will find relevant, current, inspiring, and often amusing information shared by Dr. Segura in various formats and on different platforms, including Instagram. She has authored and been involved in articles, videos, and podcasts for public awareness. She is also a permanent fixture at LaughingSarah.org, an organization whose mission is to support women and couples dealing with infertility.

Dr. Segura’s emphasis on prevention and public education started before she even entered medicine when she was working as an epidemiologist for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. It was there she realized the importance of public education and the public’s health. Dr. Segura believes it is her God-given purpose to inform the uninformed and misinformed. In so doing, she hopes to empower women to take care of their own health.

By dispensing the medicine of knowledge, Dr. Segura aims to help all women, even those that are not a part of her practice. She also seeks to empower women by sharing stories of struggles and success, not just of her own, but the many inspirational women that she feels fortunate in meeting. A reflection of this passion can be seen through her writings in “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats”. She hopes that all women will be able to realize their own true worth and continue aspiring. With so many women to help, her job is never finished, and Dr. Segura will continue to work tirelessly to keep women happy, healthy and inspired.
